Former NFL great Terrell Owens will be playing in a new football league this year. He wants Colin Kaepernick to join him.

Owens has agreed to play in the new Fan Controlled Football league. Believe it or not, he’ll be catching passes from former college football star Johnny Manziel. That’s two big names in the new football league. Will a third join them?

Owens is urging Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, to join him and Manziel in the FCF. The longtime NFL wide receiver believes it could help Kaepernick sharpen his skillset to prepare him better for an NFL return.

“I feel like he could come in and really use this to really sharpen his skill set,” Owens told TMZ Sports. “Especially because there’s some questions about him not playing for such a long time.”

The only issue here is Colin Kaepernick has made it clear he feels he deserves another opportunity in the NFL. The good news is he’s willing to accept a backup spot.

It was previously believed Kaepernick would only sign with an NFL team if he was guaranteed to be a starter.

“I‘m told Colin Kaepernick has informed others that he’s open to accepting even a back-up QB role–if* that’s what it takes–to facilitate a return to the NFL, per league source,” Josina Anderson tweeted last week.

Will Kaepernick take Terrell Owens’ advice and join the FCF? It’d be fun, that’s for sure.
