Tennessee tornado and storm damage reports: See where they've been reported in greater Nashville area

A line of storms moving across Middle Tennessee has prompted tornado and flash flood warnings throughout the day, with more severe weather expected overnight.

Nashville and the Middle Tennessee region are facing multiple rounds of potentially severe thunderstorms on Wednesday through early Thursday morning. A tornado watch is in effect for Middle Tennessee until 9 p.m.

At least one person has died and several have been injured. Tornadoes have been reported in Robertson and Maury County. Large hail has also been reported in Clarksville.

At 5:46 p.m., the National Weather Service confirmed a likely tornado on the ground near Columbia. They said the tornado moved into northwest Marshall county. There are reports of Marshall County 911 dispatch center receiving calls of damage in the Blackburn Hollow area near Tobe Robertson Road. One person was killed, four others injured, according to the Maury County Regional Hospital.

The Maury County Office of Emergency Management posted a message to residents in the wake of the storm.

"We are receiving reports of damage," they said. "We are urging for everyone to stay off roads. If you can stay at home."

The Columbia police department reported trees and powerlines down and blocking Bear Creek Pike and Old Highway 99. "Please use alternate routes and do not be in the area unless absolutely necessary," they said in a Facebook post.

Another likely tornado was first reported at 2:47 p.m. on mile marker 19 on Interstate 24 in Robertson County. It was also reported northwest of Coopertown minutes later. Aside from fallen trees and some roads closed due to flooding, no major damage has been reported yet.
