Tennessee Titans trade deadline updates: The latest news, rumors and moves

The Tennessee Titans figure to be one of the busiest teams ahead of the 2023 NFL trade deadline.

The deadline for NFL teams to trade players this season comes at 3 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Oct. 31. The Titans (3-4) are rumored to be one of the most active teams on the trade market and are receiving calls inquiring about a number of top players. Running back Derrick Henry, receiver DeAndre Hopkins, quarterback Ryan Tannehill and defensive lineman Denico Autry are among the biggest names who could be moved.

The Titans got a head start with trades last week, moving two-time All Pro safety Kevin Byard in a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. In return, the Titans received safety Terrell Edmunds and two late-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Rumors have swirled about Henry's status. On Saturday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Titans have told Henry they don't intend to trade him but that that won't preclude the team from making a move if the deal is right. After Sunday's game, Henry said he's had conversations with Titans GM Ran Carthon about the deadline and understands the position he's in as a running back approaching 30 years old but has expressed his preference to stay with the Titans for the remainder of the season.

Tennessee Titans updates ahead of the NFL trade deadline

Sunday, Oct. 29

The Titans snapped a two-game losing streak with a 28-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Some of the Titans' most obvious trade targets showed just how valuable they can be. Henry rushed for 101 yards, Hopkins caught three touchdowns and Autry logged four tackles with a sack. But the most important development for the Titans was the emergence of rookie quarterback Will Levis, who threw four touchdowns to pilot the Titans to a win and spark optimism for a team that might be a little less willing to tear down given his success.

Henry also spoke about the trade deadline after the game, explaining his reaction to the rumors circulating about teams making offers to acquire him before Tuesday.

"Everything’s going in a positive direction," Henry said. "I understand my position. The lifespan of it is not too long. I’m getting older. I ain’t getting no younger. At the end of the day, I know it’s a business and I understand that. Coach said earlier this week we signed up for it. Sometimes the business side is not what you always want, but it’s a business. At the end of the day, I’m a Titan and I’m happy to be a Titan. I’ll do whatever I can to help this organization continue to win and keep going further and further and do what we can to possibly get a championship this year."
