Tennessee softball vs Alabama: Live score updates in NCAA tournament super regional

Tennessee softball is two wins away from the Women's College World Series.

The No. 3 seed Lady Vols (43-10) host No. 14 seed Alabama (36-17) in the NCAA super regional that begins Friday (4 p.m., ESPN2) at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. Tennessee swept its regional last weekend to advance, outscoring opponents 21-0. The Tide had two close wins, one going to extra innings against Southeastern Louisiana, before run-ruling SLU in the regional final.

The Lady Vols beat Alabama in their regular-season series 2-1. Tennessee shut out Alabama in the first two wins before dropping the final game 1-0.

If UT wins the super regional, it will earn consecutive WCWS berths for just the third time in program history. The first streak of WCWS appearances was from 2005-07 and the second was 2012-13.
