The Green Bay Packers might be Jordan Love’s team moving forward.

Aaron Rodgers has yet to report to Green Bay this offseason. He did not show up for voluntary OTAs or mandatory minicamp. It’s unclear if he is planning on reporting to training camp later this month.

It seems possible – likely, even – that Rodgers will continue to hold out, hoping to force a trade. Some believe Rodgers could even threaten to sit out some of the regular season in order to prompt a move from Green Bay’s front office.

If that happens, the Packers will likely go with second-year quarterback Jordan Love under center. Love, a first round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has reportedly looked very good this offseason.

“Jordan Love just worked out in Texas with Deshaun Watson and Justin Fields,” Jeremy Fowler said last Tuesday on ESPN’s Get Up. “They all share the same agent. I spoke to a coach who was involved in that workout. He said Love looks exceptionally good, and that’s not hyperbole — this coach works with a lot of quarterbacks around the league and he said, ‘The energy out of the ball,’ when Love throws it, ‘is tangible.’ He’s just got an elite arm. And so, he could surprise some people if he does get in games this year — especially with enough arm strength to pierce through that Green Bay cold.”

The Packers would obviously prefer to have Rodgers under center moving forward.

However, it sounds like there could be a promising future with Love. Green Bay fans are simply hoping that they’re a couple of years away from that future.
