'Teen Mom 2' Star Kailyn Lowry Welcomes Twins, Making Her a Mother of 7
Surprise! Kailyn Lowry is officially a mother of seven. The Teen Mom 2 alum officially announced that she welcomed twins with her boyfriend, Elijah Scott, in a new episode of her podcast, Barely Famous, on Friday.
The 31-year-old revealed that she is "in my girl mom era" after finally having a baby girl. Her twins, whom she and Elijah did not publicly name, included one boy and one girl, giving her a total of six boys and one girl.
Kailyn and Elijah are also parents to son Rio, who is not yet one. She shares son Isaac, 14, with her ex, Jo Rivera, son Lincoln, 10, with ex Javi Marroquin, and sons Lux, 6, and Creed, 3, with ex Chris Lopez.
During the podcast episode, Lowry revealed that she is officially done having children after cutting her tubes out following her C-section delivery of the twins.
"I didn't know before I had seven kids, how a person would know if they're done having children," Lowry explained. "I spent so much time after Creed saying publicly, privately, 'I'm done, I'm done. I don't want anymore kids,' but I was trying to convince myself I'm done. I knew that."
She added, "I wouldn't say I regret it because seven kids is crazy. Seven kids sounds crazy. It doesn't feel crazy yet… they're so new, they're not chaotic. When Rio starts walking and the twins are mobile, that would feel chaotic… But I'm done. We're done, right? We have to be done now. We made that decision before. You said you were good with three kids."
Elijah agreed with a simple, "Yeah."
He added that he plans to get a vasectomy.
"Yes, I'm done [having kids]," he confirmed.
Kailyn had a little fun with her newfound status on TikTok, taking part in a viral trend where she listed the different traits of being a mother of seven kids.
"I'm a mom of seven. I never would have planned this for myself, but it happened and I literally would not have it any other f**king way because I love being a mom of seven," she said.
Kailyn got her start on MTV's 16 and Pregnant in 2010, where she was featured welcoming Isaac into the world. She went on to appear on all 16 seasons of Teen Mom 2 and the spinoff, Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, which aired its last episode in 2022. In the final reunion episode, Kailyn shared that she doesn't plan to return to the franchise.
"I think I need to move on and do my own thing," she said during MTV's reunion. "I think I'm ready."
