Teen accused of killing 13-year-old cheerleader Tristyn Bailey allegedly shrugged off discovery of her body, had ‘violent’ drawings in bedroom
When approached about the discovery of his cheerleader classmate’s stabbed body, the 14-year-old now accused of her murder allegedly responded with indifference.
Tristyn Bailey, a seventh-grade student and cheerleader for the Infinity AllStars and Patriot Oaks Chargers, was last seen alive with friends in Jacksonville at the Durbin Amenity Center in Durbin Crossing on May 9 around midnight. Her remains were found the following day in a remote wooded area, just hours after authorities had put out the missing person alert.
Aiden Fucci was arrested the same night and went quickly viral after posting a selfie from the back of a police car. “Where’s Tristyn?” he captioned it.
The teen was seated alongside his parents inside the St. John’s Sheriff’s Office when investigators revealed to him Tristyn’s body had been discovered at the end of a cul-de-sac near her house in St. John’s, the same neighborhood where he too grew up. She’d been stabbed 114 times.
“How is that my problem?” he said to officers, according to a trove of documents released by the 7th Judicial State’s Attorney’s Office Wednesday and obtained by People.
Fucci was initially charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his 13-year-old classmate, which police believe occurred on May 8. State Attorney R.J. Larizza has since announced, however that the charges against him would be raised to first-degree murder and said the teen would be tried as an adult.
According to documents, Fucci told investigators he attempted to kiss Tristyn, who apparently rebuffed his advances. The rejection made him angry, he said, adding that he grabbed his classmate and told her to “F off” before he pushed her.
Fucci alleged that the teen cheerleader hit her head, but that she was still alive when he left in a huff.
In another report released as part of the cache of documents, investigators probing Tristyn’s death said they discovered not only the teen’s bloody clothes and sneakers, but “drawings of a violent nature” inside Fucci’s bedroom.
Among the drawings referenced in reports was an illustration that “depicted a satanic element to them, to include a pentagram.” Another drawing showed a nude female with red Xs over her breasts and genitals, and what appeared to blood coming from several wounds, News4Jax reported.
Fucci has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bond while he awaits trial.
