The Miami Dolphins added Teddy Bridgewater to their roster this offseason. And the move was thought to be a nice backup option for the developing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

At his introductory presser on Monday, Bridgewater asked about what he and the team discussed as far as his role with the Dolphins. But the veteran didn’t care to share those conversations.

“Honestly, man, that’s a conversation I’d rather keep in-house,” Bridgewater replied. “It’s a unique opportunity for me, for this organization and I’m happy that I could be a part of it this season. I’m going to be the best version of Teddy that I can be, helping the way that I know how to help, being genuine and still giving my all to this game.”

The reporter then tried to come at it from a different angle; asking if he’s coming to Miami as a backup or if he thinks he has a legitimate chance to compete for the starting job.

But Bridgewater didn’t bite.

“That’s something that the coaches and I, we talked about,” Bridgewater said. “I’m confident in that conversation and it’s really something that I would rather not discuss.”

The QB signed a one-year, $6.5 million contract with the Dolphins. And from the outside looking in, it looks like it could be a great situation for one of the more well-liked players in the NFL.
