Tears were shed at 2024 Webb Street School graduation ceremony

Tears were shed Wednesday at the 2024 Webb Street School graduation ceremony after 16 Gaston students received their diplomas.

The ceremony began at 11:30 a.m. in the school's gymnasium with the processional, pledge of allegiance, and opening comments from Webb Street Principal Christopher Mills.

A special song was performed by Zara Gonzales before special awards like the principal's award, silent hero award, and "Yes I can," awards were distributed to select students.

Gaston County Schools Superintendent Morgan Houchard addressed the class before diplomas were awarded, and the event came to a close after a performance by the Webb Street School chorus.

More than 2,000 students graduated from Gaston County Schools last week.

The Gazette is publishing graduation photos at GastonGazette.com and on Facebook.
