Taylor Swift May Have Broken an NFL Dating 'Curse' With Travis Kelce Relationship

It's a superstitious world, and there's just something about celebrity wives and girlfriends, or "WAGs," that puts football fans on edge.

Luckily, Taylor Swift seems to be turning things around amid her blossoming romance with Travis Kelce, breaking a so-called "curse" that appears to be rooted in nothing more than misogyny.

According to Fox News, the disdain for famous significant others began when Jessica Simpson was dating former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. In Dec. 2007, Simpson was in the crowd at a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. She wore a pink No. 9 Romo jersey, and not only did the team lose, but Romo played the worst game of his career, statistically speaking.

The team's wide receiver at the time, Terrell Owens, said after the fact, "Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite - in this locker room or in Texas Stadium."

He later claimed to be joking, but it was too late; the "Jessica Simpson Curse" had been established. According to the publication, shortly after they were spotted vacationing in Mexico, the team lost the 2008 playoffs game to the New York Giants.

However, Romo's worst game—prior to the Eagles loss—came the year prior, when he was dating Carrie Underwood.

Then, in 2010, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler got flack after he went public with Kristin Cavallari. He went on to record one of the lowest average passing yards of his career in 2013 when he married the actress.

You may be sick and tired of the amount of coverage the NFL is bestowing upon the lovebirds, but you can't deny that, as far as game-ruining curses go, there are no dark storm clouds swirling over Arrowhead Stadium; the team has won every single game Swift has attended so far, with her most recent game being their sixth consecutive win.

So are men blaming women for their poor performances or is the "Willow" songstress a bringer of luck? You tell us.
