An uneasy moment captured on video during the first night of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert run in Japan has fans crediting the pop star’s leg strength with keeping her from taking a nasty spill.

The moment occurred during Swift’s onstage choreography for “Vigilante S—t,” one of the songs on her 2022 album Midnights, during her Feb. 7 show. During the song, Swift and her dancers used chairs as props while they gathered in a circle, their backs to each other. Swift was seen wearing a dark blue leotard with silver detailing as she faced the front of the crowd.

While lowering her body from a standing position onto the chair, Swift, 34, appeared to lose track of where the edge of the seat was and almost stumbled off of it. She quickly regained her balance while squatting and continued her performance without missing a beat.

One fan who shared a clip of the stumble on X said the quick recovery showed Swift has clearly “been doing her squats.” Others agreed, tweeting they were “glad” that the “Lover” songstress “didn’t actually fall.”

Another X user suggested that Swift’s legs are “probably so strong that she could sit like that without the chair for the whole song.”

Feb. 7 marked the first of Swift’s four-night run at the Tokyo Dome. After her last show in Tokyo on Feb. 10, Swift will have six days off before her international tour resumes, first with a set of shows in Australia at Melbourne’s Cricket Ground Stadium on Feb. 16 and later at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.

But before she heads off to Australia, Swift is expected to return to the U.S. in time to watch her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, play in this year’s Super Bowl. While Swifties were initially worried about her ability to make the journey from Tokyo to Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium in time for Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11, the Japanese Embassy in the U.S. has reassured fans that Swift “should comfortably arrive” before the big game begins.
