Taylor Swift changed set list to add 'The Tortured Poets Department,' cuts this RI song

So long to the 'Last Great American Dynasty.'

As the Eras Tour resumed in Paris, Taylor Swift changed up the setlist to add seven songs from her new album "The Tortured Poets Department."

And one of the songs to end up on the chopping block was her ode to her Rhode Island mansion, "The Last Great American Dynasty."

While dreaming up her eighth studio album Folklore during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Swift was inspired by the history of her home in Westerly (home to the famous 4th of July party) to write the song "The Last Great American Dynasty."

Prior to Swift, the house was owned by Rebekah Harkness, a divorcée who famously married into the Standard Oil fortune in 1947. Swift declares a kind-of kinship with Harkness in the song, who was known for antics like cleaning her pool with Dom Pérignon, her relationship with artist Salvador Dali, and dyeing her pet green, relating, it seems to Harkness's reputation.
