Taskmaster's Katherine Ryan set to host new documentary series
Former Taskmaster star Katherine Ryan will be fronting a new documentary series for W and UKTV Play.
The comedian and presenter is teaming up with her Backstage With Katherine Ryan producers Expectation on a series to explore unique parenting strategies.
Described by its producers as "the real Motherland", Katherine Ryan: Parental Guidance (which is the show's working title) will also delve into the host's own personal life raising three children.
The docu-series examines the ways Katherine and her partner Bobby Kootstra differ on their parenting strategies and how they reconcile those differences.
"Since filming Backstage with Katherine Ryan, I’ve been hoping to work with Expectation on another unique ‘all access’ project," she said.
"Parental Guidance gives plenty of food for thought while putting comedy front and centre. We are thrilled to bring this provocative new show to UKTV."
Over the course of four 60-minute episodes, producers have promised "privileged access and genuine revelation seen through the searingly honest comedic lens" of host Ryan.
Producer Ben Wicks said: "We are elated to be making this exciting and brilliantly unique new series with Katherine, it will be proof, if ever it were needed, that she has the sharpest and most enquiring comedic mind around today. It will be part-investigation, part-peek-behind the scenes, yet wholly hilarious."

"This series is a perfect accompaniment to our slate of original programming and will kick off our 2024 in a brilliantly unfiltered style.
Katherine has most recently joined the cast of Celebrity Gogglebox for its latest series, in addition to making recurring appearances on Joe Lycett's live Channel 4 late-night series. She has also starred in the Netflix comedy series The Duchess and competed on The Masked Singer earlier this year.
Katherine Ryan: Parental Guidance will air next year on W and UKTV Play.
