Alex Horne has confirmed that a bonus episode of Taskmaster is on TV tonight (June 6).

The previously announced spin-off, Taskmasterclass, "seeks to answer some of the most burning questions" about the series, with narration from everyone's favourite double act Greg Davies and Alex Horne.

The synopsis for the special episode, which is set to go behind the curtain of the ever-popular comedy gameshow, asks whether there is "method behind Taskmaster's madness".

Greg Davies and Little Alex Horne are set to reveal all, "with the help of some willing victims".

Alex Horne has directed fans to the episode, describing it as "a specially curated and narrated celebration of a particular aspect of the nonsense".

He added: "Fun to make, hopefully fun to watch..."

Taskmasterclass airs on Channel 4 at 9pm on Thursday, June 6.

As well as this spin-off, the franchise is expanding into the world of gaming with a VR game, due to be released on June 13.

Players will be able to step in as contestants, or can play as the Taskmaster's Assistant and create tasks of their own.

"In real life, I'm not allowed to be a Taskmaster contestant or look into the Taskmaster's eyes without his permission, but thanks to Taskmaster VR I can fulfil very nearly all of my Taskmaster fantasies," Horne said of the project.

"I strongly urge anyone with similar ambitions to get the game immediately."

Davies further joked: "It goes without saying that a computer-generated Alex is, much like his human counterpart, a constant irritant.

"I thought that the virtual version of me may turn out to be more zen, but if anything, he is less tolerant. If being judged by a man who is so angry he doesn't exist is your thing, then this is the game for you."

The current series of Taskmaster features Joanne McNally, John Robins, Nick Mohammed, Sophie Willan and Steve Pemberton.

Taskmaster airs on Channel 4, where you can also stream previous series.
