Tarrant County voters for Saturday’s election had to be redirected to nearby voting centers as voting machines were not working, according to city officials.

In an update posted on Facebook at 1 p.m., the City of Bedford announced issues with voting machines, including the pollbooks at Pat May Center in Bedford.

Voters were told they can still vote at Pat May Center but were asked to be patient as not all voting machines at the location were functioning at the time, the city said in the post.

Around 2:30 p.m., only one pollbook was working at Pat May Center, according to Brody Mulligan, general consultant for Bedford Mayor Daniel Cogan. This caused a 45-minute wait, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m about three dozen voters left the station rather than waiting to cast a ballot, Mulligan told the Star-Telegram.

In an update posted at 1:16 p.m., the city had voters in Bedford redirected to the closest polling locations with the shortest lines including:

Euless

  • Euless Family Life Senior Center at 300 West Midway Drive

  • St. John Baptist Church at 3324 House Anderson Road

North Richland Hills

  • City Point United Methodist Church at 7301 Glenview Drive

  • North Richland Hills Public Library at 9015 Grand Ave.

  • Former Bursey Road Senior Adult Center at 7301 Bursey Road

Although, the Euless voting locations were also experiencing issues with their check-in system, according to Mulligan. Voter turnout in Euless has been low as the pollbook at the Euless Family Life Senior Center was also not working.

Voters at the Colleyville Recreation Center at 5008 Roberts Road also saw long wait times, ranging from 35 to 45 minute waits, Mulligan said.
