A woman was told money would be entering her life the same day she won a massive lottery prize, Michigan officials said.

The 59-year-old bought the $10 50X Wild Time instant game in Fenton, according to an April 12 news release by the Michigan Lottery. She had no clue she was carrying a $500,000 prize.

“During my tarot reading, I was told money would be coming into my life very soon,” the winner told officials. “I tried to think of ways this might happen, but I didn’t even think about the lottery tickets in my purse.”

The woman said she “always told people” in her life that she’d win the lottery “one day” and buys instant tickets weekly, officials said.

Even though the winner usually buys her tickets from the same store, she decided to stop at a different store on the way to her tarot reading, officials said.

“Later that night I scratched the tickets. I saw the star symbol and thought: ‘Well at least I won my money back’ assuming it would be a $10 win,” the winner told lottery officials. “Much to my surprise, I revealed a prize of $500,000! I tried to remain calm, but I knew right then and there this had just changed my life!”

The lucky woman plans to use the money to pay off her car, take a cruise and will save the rest, officials said.

The woman’s win means two more $500,000 top prizes are left to be claimed in the 50X Wild Time game, officials said.

Fenton is about a 60-mile drive northwest of Detroit.
