Tan France Is Hosting a (Free!) Virtual Mother’s Day Get-Together this Weekend & Everyone Is Invited

Tan France is sharing his secret tips for planning a show-stopping virtual Mother’s Day day brunch this year.

PureWow recently spoke with France to discuss his latest partnership with KitchenAid and his upcoming event, a Virtual Mother’s Day Get-Together, taking place this weekend on Instagram Live. With guest appearances from TV personality Maria Menounos and NYT bestselling cookbook author Tieghan Gerard of Half Baked Harvest, the Queer Eye star will be dishing out advice on how to make this Mother’s Day special, even if you can’t physically be with your loved ones.

“Ever since we’ve been home and started social distancing, I started baking a lot,” France said. “And I only will collaborate on something if it makes sense with what I do in my real life. So making a Mother’s Day brunch is perfect for me—it’s something I would do anyway if I was at home with my mom.”

The 37-year-old Dressing Funny star also opened up about how he’s been spending time with his family and friends and the importance of staying connected.

“I have been doing so many virtual cooking sessions,” France continued. “If it’s a birthday we’ll all bake something together or cook something together and that's what I suggest that people do if they aren't able to be with their loved ones in person. And hoping most of us have access to WiFi, we can find a way to either FaceTime or Zoom and be able to engage with one another. Just because we can't be together physically doesn't mean we can't spend time with them.”

You can tune into the Virtual Mother’s Day Get-Together (where France will dole out his brunching tips) this Saturday, May 9, at 1 p.m. ET, on the official KitchenAid Instagram channel. Oh, and France told us one more secret—there will be French toast.
