First it was 7 Brew Coffee, then it was two new Red Owls. Now Tallahassee may be gifted with yet another new coffee chain, Dutch Bros Coffee.

According to city of Tallahassee development records, the popular Oregon-based coffee and beverage shop, known for its friendly customer service showcased in numerous TikTok videos, is proposing to open at 1528 W. Tennessee St., a now empty lot that once hosted a Domino's Pizza.

Whether that becomes reality will be decided at a Thursday, May 23, Tallahassee Growth Development meeting, where contemplated and proposed projects are reviewed.

Dutch Bros representatives would not confirm plans for a location in Tallahassee – despite the project being featured on Thursday's meeting agenda. The planned 950-square-foot coffee shop, with 831 square feet of outdoor seating, would sit between a Taco Bell and a Marathon gas station.

Dunkin' Donuts, Smoothie King and Starbucks all are within a quick walk along the bustling Tennessee Street strip.

Dutch Bros famed for drinks such as the Golden Eagle

The coffee franchise offers a variety of drinks including blended freezes, classic brews, "Rebel Energy" drinks, lemonades, iced teas, smoothies, shakes, sparkling soda and more, with a few light snacks to pair with.

A particular fan fave is the Golden Eagle, a vanilla and caramel breve (an espresso shot combined with half-and-half) with caramel drizzle, served hot or cold.

As previously reported in the Tallahassee Democrat, this kind of development is right on trend for Tallahassee, according to the Annual Commercial Real Estate Update from NAI TALCOR, a commercial real estate firm.

Developers had predicted that new coffee shops and ice cream businesses were expected to sprout up.
