In the "here today, gone tomorrow" world of limited-time fast food menu items, Taco Bell is one of the major players. Items such as Rolled Chicken Tacos, Enchiritos, and Chile Crisp Chicken Tacos come and go (and sometimes, if we're lucky, come back again).

One fan fave that hasn’t been off the menu all that long—they were on there just last fall—is coming back again. Of course, we're talking about Nacho Fries, one of its customers' favorite items. Last September, when the “crispy, golden fries dusted with boldly flavored seasoning” returned, they did so with a brand-new sauce—vegan nacho.

Both the fries and the vegan cheese sauce disappeared from menus fairly quickly. But now, the fries are back and with a first-of-its-kind sauce, and both will hang around longer than other limited-time—but they won’t be around forever.

Taco Bell Launches New Secret Aardvark Nacho Fries

This is actually the 11th time Taco Bell will bring back Nacho Fries since their introduction in 2018, and this time the fries will be seasoned with bold Mexican spices (one of the constants of the fries) and topped with slow-roasted chicken, a three-cheese blend, sour cream, nacho cheese sauce, and pico de gallo. And this time around, Taco Bell is partnering with Portland-based hot sauce company, Secret Aardvark, for the new sauce to accompany the (aptly named) Secret Aardvark Nacho Fries.

Secret Aardvark makes several spicy sauces and marinades, but for Taco Bell, the sauce company created a new sauce just for the Nacho Fries. The zesty Serrabanero sauce is made from green tomatoes, roasted tomatillos, serrano and green habanero peppers, all combined with savory, creamy ranch. The sauce adds a punch of additional spice to the already-seasoned Nacho Fries. Talk about a flavor party!

The Secret Aardvark Nacho Fries officially launch April 25, but if you can’t wait until then and are a Taco Bell Rewards Member, we've got good news: you may be able to get your hands on them two days early. 300 members who have reached Fire! Tier rewards status (those who hit 2,000 points in a calendar year) will get an exclusive Tuesday Drop of the Nacho Fries on April 23.

The details of the Tuesday Drop are secret until the drop goes live, but we imagine it will be early access to the latest iteration of the Nacho Fries. Fire! Tier members can check the Taco Bell app on April 23 to see if they’ve been chosen as one of the 300. For the rest of us, we'll just have to wait until April 25 to spice up our lives.
