Sydney Sweeney’s Dad Literally Walked Out in the Middle of the First ‘Euphoria’ Episode He Watched

It’s hard to imagine this surprising literally anyone in the world, but Sydney Sweeney’s dad and grandpa felt suuuuuuuper awkward when they tried to watch Euphoria. You might actually be feeling more surprised that those two humans tried to watch Euphoria at all than that doing so would be a deeply uncomfortable experience, which would be fair, considering the very adult (read: very naked) scenes featuring Sydney’s character, Cassie. Before you judge them too harshly for the life choice to even press play on an episode of the show, you should know that Sydney gave them absolutely no heads-up about Euphoria’s sexy content.
“I didn’t prepare my dad at all,” she explained in a new interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist (per Entertainment Tonight). Sydney’s mom (who was at least a little aware of what to expect because she had visited Sydney on “quite a few times”) also opted to completely avoid the subject, apparently, given the reaction the men of the Sweeney fam had to the show, which was just shy of a formal protest.
“How do you bring up a conversation? And also when I talk to my dad, it’s usually not about work,” Sydney added. “He decided he was going watch it without telling me, with his parents. My dad and my grandpa turned it off and walked out.”
FWIW, Sydney says her grandma is fully supportive of her career, Euphoria nudity and all. In fact, her grandma is so okay with Euphoria that not only does she frequently come with Sydney to set, but she actually also works as an extra when she does.
