Sydney Sweeney Says She’s “So Captivated” by Her ‘Euphoria’ Costar Alexa Demie
Cassie Howard and Maddy Perez ended season 2 of HBO’s Euphoria by coming to blows during the show’s finale. The tension between the two on-again, off-again besties couldn’t be more different than the IRL relationship shared by the actors who play the Eastland High teens. Sydney Sweeney, who stars as Cassie, dished to People about her friendship with Alexa Demie offscreen and what she admires about her while promoting her new Dream Skin campaign with Laneige.
“I’m always so impressed by how confident Alexa is with whatever she’s wearing and however her makeup is,” the Madame Web star explained. According to Sydney, Alexa is just as confident IRL as Maddie is onscreen, but she says Alexa’s true confidence goes beyond her looks. “I think that it really just shows how it comes from inside,” she explained. “She just rocks whatever she has going on.…I’m always so captivated by that. I hope that I can kind of take a little bit of her confidence one day.”
Alexa isn’t the only Euphoria castmate Sydney is close with. She shares an undeniable bond with Maude Apatow, who plays Cassie’s sister, Lexi, in the series. When asked who she had the “most fun” with while getting glammed up for the Sam Levinson–created series, Sydney said, “I’d have to say Maude just because she and I are best friends and we are like sisters. So whenever we’re just together, it’s like being with your best friend.”
