Sydney Sweeney Is Bringing Back the Black Bob With Bangs

It’s giving noir-chic.

The Met Gala is a night filled with the chicest beauty and fashion—and this year’s red carpet is no exception. One of the most memorable looks was donned by resident it-girl Sydney Sweeney, who traded in her signature blonde bombshell ‘do for a blunt, jet black bob that had fans doing a double take.

Looking nearly unrecognizable, Sweeney stepped out on the Metropolitan Museum of Art steps with a black wig, which was expertly styled by iconic celebrity hairstylist, Glen Oropeza. To get the Euphoria star ready for her big moment, Oropeza dampened the wig and cut into the blunt shape that perfectly framed Sweeney’s face.

And don’t forget the bangs! The eyebrow-length fringe bang was added for an extra shaggy look.

After securing it to her hair with hairpins, he then styled the final style using the SUTRA Infrared blow dryer to add volume and shaped the wig using SUTRA Infrared Flat Iron around the roots to add texture and dimension. Lastly, Oropeza locked the waves in place using Kerastase Laque Extreme.

A beautifully tousled look, this dramatic black bob was a stark contrast from Sweeney’s typical, chest-length blonde hair—but we’re all for it. In fact, we may be calling our hairdresser as we speak…
