Swiftie Adorably Recreates Taylor Swift's 'Fortnight' Music Video With Their Dog

One Taylor Swift fan has used their dog to recreate part of a music video that the pop star released last week in support of her new album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Swift shared her music video for “Fortnight,” one of 31 new tracks included on her surprise double album, on Friday, April 19. Swift starred in the music video alongside Post Malone, who had a featured credit on the song. Actors Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles also had cameos in the video, which Swift directed.

The recreated video featured Lucas, a dachshund, and was shared on the @iamcalledlucas Instagram account. The clip reimagined the music video’s typewriter scene, in which both Swift and Post Malone typed away at separate machines. In the fan version, aptly titled “Fortnight (Lucas’ version),” Lucas wore two separate costumes while alternating between the roles played by Swift and Post Malone. The dog’s paws moved as if he was typing, with one camera angle even showing his paws covered in lace gloves, just as Swift’s hands were.

The Instagram video appeared as a split screen, with the reimagined dog video on top and Swift’s original clip beneath it.

“I look like @taylorswift in this light, i’m lovin’ it 🤭🤍,” the Instagram caption said.

The “Fortnight” music video arrived as The Tortured Poets Department’s first. Swift announced the project while accepting a record-breaking fourth Album of the Year Grammy Award in February and finally released the album on April 19. She described the double album in a post on X as an “anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure.”

Of the music video, the pop star said on Instagram that nearly “everything in it is a metaphor or a reference to one corner of the album or another” and that it “turned out to be the perfect visual representation of this record and the stories I tell in it.”
