Suspect in triple homicide that left Fort Hood soldier dead arrested in Mississippi

A Texas man was arrested Friday and charged with the deaths of three people, including a Fort Hood soldier, in a March triple homicide.

Barnard Lnell Morrow, 21, has been charged with multiple counts of capital murder for the deaths of Asia Cline, 22, Shaquan Markell Allred, 23, and Freddy Beningo Delacruz Jr., 23, the Killeen Police Department announced Friday.

“The department wishes to express its condolences to the family and friends of the victims of this tragedy,” Killeen Police Chief Charles Kimble said in a statement.

“I wish to thank our officers and detectives for their dedicated service in reaching a conclusion in this investigation.”

Police responded to calls of shots fired at an apartment complex in Killeen around 1 a.m. on March 14 and found three people, later identified as Cline, Allred and Delacruz, dead inside.

Freddy Beningo Delacruz Jr., 23, was one of the three victims.

Morrow, identified as a suspect, seemingly fled town before being caught Friday morning by the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Newton, Miss.

He was transported to the Lauderdale County Jail and is awaiting extradition back to Bell County.

A motive for the killings is still unclear.

Delacruz is one of several Fort Hood soldiers to be killed this year, including 26-year-old Pvt. Mejhor Morta last month, 24-year-old Gregory Morales and 20-year-old Pfc. Vanessa Guillen.

Sgt. Elder Fernandes, 23, went missing earlier this month and was found dead Wednesday.
