Suspect charged in Allen Park sexual assault case involving girl, 13

A suspect is in custody and faces charges following a reported sexual assault incident involving a 13-year-old female in Allen Park.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office charged Michael Shawn Holcomb, 52, of Ecorse, in connection with the sexual and physical assault of a 13-year-old female victim on the morning of March 17, the prosecutor's office said Monday in a release.

"The alleged facts in this case will show that this defendant is a dangerous person whose predatory behavior seems to know no bounds," said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

The suspect faces six charges of criminal sexual conduct in the case.

The prosecutor's office alleges Holcomb physically and sexually assaulted the victim around 8 a.m. on March 17 at a residence on Meyer Avenue, then suspect the scene. Dearborn police arrested the suspect later that day.

"This is one of the worst cases I’ve seen as a sworn police officer for over 28 years. I have full faith in our Detective Bureau and the Wayne County Prosecutor to find justice in this case," said Allen Park Police Chief Christopher Egan.

The suspect also faces charges related to a Dearborn home invasion and sexual assault incident the afternoon of March 17. The victims, two elderly sisters, went to the hospital with injuries sustained from physical and sexual assault at a home near Outer Drive and Southfield Road.

The arraignment is set for Tuesday at 9 a.m. in 24th District Court.
