Bergquist opened fire at Boise Towne Square Mall just before 2 p.m. Monday, according to police. He gunned down a security guard and a mall patron before injuring four other people with gunshots.

Jo Acker, a 26-year-old woman, and Roberto Padilla Arguelles, a 49-year-old man, were identified Tuesday as the victims.

After the fatal shots, Bergquist began firing bullets into the floor and injured two women before exiting the mall and opening fire on a woman in her car. After cops arrived, he injured an officer outside the mall during a shootout.

The injured people were identified only by age and gender: a 52-year-old woman, a 23-year-old woman and a 68-year-old woman. The injured officer’s identifying information was not released.

Bergquist was carrying multiple guns when he entered the mall, police said. The exact weapons were not revealed.

Police are still investigating a potential motive for the shooting. Cops had previously encountered Bergquist at the mall after reports of disorderly conduct but said they never had cause to arrest him.
