Sushi restaurant in Lake Worth requires followup after recent health inspections

No restaurants were closed for serious health violations during recent inspections, but one sushi and steakhouse restaurant in Lake Worth will require a followup.

From June 26 to July 2, 84 restaurants underwent health inspections in Tarrant County, except for those located in the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, Euless and North Richland Hills, which conduct their own inspections.

Oishii Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse, at 6302 Lake Worth Blvd., received the highest demerit score with 34 violations. The restaurant was cited for an unclean microwave oven, no soap at the hand sink in the kitchen, no hair restraint worn by the kitchen chef and more.

Restaurants that receive more than 29 demerits require a followup inspection.

Villa Del Sol, located at 1300 Northwest Parkway St. in Azle, received 26 demerits. The establishment was cited for cheese and salsa on the service line not being held at a cold enough temperature.



Employees were told to put the food items on ice and keep a temperature log. The restaurant will have a followup within seven days to check the logged temperatures.

Sunny Donuts, located at 3344 Harwood Road in Bedford, had a score of 2 violations. However, the issue of not having hot water in the hand sink near the dishwashing area was been a repeat issue for more than three years. The establishment was told to repair it immediately.

Another Bedford establishment, Papa G’s Sports Bar & Grill, located at 2900 Highway 121, scored a 14.



The restaurant had repeat issues with margarita machines being on the floor, slow water flow at a hand sink and no soap for hand washing, according to its inspection report.
