Survivor Joins Taylor Swift Mania With Episode 3 ‘Mastermind’ Sneak Peek — Watch Video

Is Survivor a mastermind for hopping on the Taylor Swift bandwagon?

CBS on Saturday released a sneak peek at next week’s episode of the competition series, featuring Swift’s “Mastermind” from her latest album Midnights.

In the clip — which will debut on TV during Saturday’s Alabama vs. Texas A&M college football game — castaways discuss “strategic excellence” while Swift sings about dominoes cascading according to plan before declaring, “What if I told you I’m a mastermind?”

CBS is simply joining the media frenzy that arose after Swift attended two Kansas City Chiefs games — first against the Chicago Bears and later versus the New York Jets. Her attendance seemingly confirmed rumors that she is romantically linked to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Last week, ahead of the Chiefs vs. Jets game, NBC‘s Sunday Night Football also capitalized on Swift’s popularity by recruiting The Voice host Carson Daly to explain the rules of football to new fans (aka Swifties) prior to kickoff.

With Swift’s “Welcome to New York” playing in the background, Daly went on to use the singer’s song titles (or parts of song titles) to explain the upcoming game. He called Kelce and the Chiefs the next “Great American Dynasty.” He said the Jets have been left with a “Blank Space” since Aaron Rodgers’ ankle injury, but will try to “Shake It Off” as they face the Chiefs. He also name-dropped “Wildest Dreams,” “Fearless,” “Mastermind” and “Style.”

Kelce, meanwhile, conceded on his brother Jason’s podcast this week that the NFL and broadcast networks are “overdoing it a little bit” with their coverage of Swift and her A-list friends at the Chiefs games.

“I think [the NFL is] just trying to have fun with it,” Travis said, adding that Swift & Co. are not attending his games “to get thrown on the TV… you just don’t want to be on TV at all times.”

Survivor Season 45 debuted on Sept. 27 and airs new episodes on Wednesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
