'Survivor' gets ugly as 8 castaways become 7. Mississippi man is still a target

For the second week in a row, Senatobia-native Quintavius "Q" Burdette was facing elimination on "Survivor" yet he managed to keep his torch lit for another episode.

But after the elimination of fellow Mississippian Hunter McBride, Burdette had an even bigger target on his back.

"At this point, my immediate next step is to get Q out," castaway Tiffany Ervin said. "I'm tired of the chaos and I'm tired of the drama."

The castaways refused to talk to Burdette, so he went off by himself and unlike his characteristic charming self, didn't have much to say.

Castaway Maria Gonzalez decided she would talk to Burdette and give him a lifeline, but her motive was to build up another alliance that would help her stay in the game.

In the meantime, castaway Kenzie Petty said she needs to look at Ervin as the completion instead of an ally.

Host Jeff Probst threw out a boot camp-style competition with a reward of a meal from Applebee's, which the winner could share with three other castaways. Liz Wilcox said she wanted to win because she and her daughter enjoy a tradition of eating Applebee's every Wednesday during the "Survivor" season.

Burdette won the challenge and chose Ervin, Petty and Gonzalez to enjoy the meal with him, which caused Wilcox to blow up. Burdette said he chose former Yanu tribemates, who had once had an alliance, and Gonzalez for reaching out to Burdette when he was alone.

"I don't owe Liz anything," Burdette said.

The move didn't entirely help Burdette, who ended up getting three votes out of the eight remaining castaways. The other castaways voted for Ervin because they knew she had an immunity idol, but like McKnight she failed to play it, resulting in her elimination.

"Survivor" Season 46 airs at 7 p.m. Wednesdays on CBS.
