Surprising Facts You Didn't Know About Javon 'Wanna' Walton from "Euphoria"

While the fashion on Euphoria is exquisite, the music choices slap, and the beauty looks are Instagram-worthy, actor Javon 'Wanna' Walton steals the show as the young drug dealer who would do anything to protect his big brother — including murder. Seriously, you couldn't hop on TikTok or Twitter without seeing a meme about THAT scene from the season 2 finale.

While it's obvious Javon is a total badass, he's so much more than just Ashtray on Euphoria. Prepare to fall in love with him all over again.

He's a champion boxer and gymnast

According to Men's Health, "By age eight, Javon had qualified for the Junior Olympics in boxing. At 11, he became the only kid in Georgia to hold state championship titles in both boxing and gymnastics."

Javon is hoping to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He's been boxing since he was four years old.

He did the Euphoria high school TikTok trend

Javon participated in the hilarious trend of dressing over-the-top when you go to the high school on Euphoria.

He's a twin

Unlike when twins Dylan and Cole Sprouse shared roles when they were little, only Javon plays Ashtray on the HBO series. His fraternal twin brother is named Jaden. "Nothing can come between us JDub," Javon wrote on Instagram in 2018.

Fans on TikTok were shocked when they realized there were two of them. Jaden has popped up on Javon's TikTok a couple of times. Javon also has an older sister named Jayla and a younger brother named Daelo.

He was discovered by a Euphoria casting agent after appearing on Steve Harvey's show, Steve

In 2017, the then-11-year-old guest-starred on the talk show to demonstrate his epic boxing skills. He later did an impromptu handstand on Steve's desk. Steve's reaction says it all.

He landed the role of Ashtray immediately

During an interview with Young Hollywood, Javon shared, "I was one of the only kids that were saying the drug names right."

He's 5' 6" tall

Depending on what website you look at, Javon is either 5' 6" or 5' 2" tall. Most likely, he's the former, since he's still growing. For comparison, his Euphoria on-screen brother, Angus Cloud, is 5' 11" tall.

He's a Cancer

Both Javon and Jaden were born on July 22, 2006, making them both 16 years old right now.

He voiced Pugsley in The Addams Family 2

Javon took over the role from Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard, who voiced Pugsley in the 2019 film, The Addams Family.

His nickname is 'Wanna'

In an interview with Vulture, Javon explained the background of his nickname. "Wanna, it came about when I was really little. I was always like, 'I wanna do this, I wanna do that.' And my parents said that they never set limitations on me so it was like, 'I wanna be a man' and then it developed into Wanna, and that’s just been my nickname ever since."

He joined The Umbrella Academy in 2022

Javon was on season 3 of the Netflix series and told Esquire before the season premiered, "My character though, people aren't going to be expecting that. People will think I'm going to be part of the other academy and all this other stuff. But it's something that people aren't really expecting."

He used to be homeschooled

During a 2018 video with Whistle, Javon shared he was in an online school that helped him manage his boxing schedule with his studies. He shared that his favorite subject was math.

Now, however, he's back in traditional school and told Esquire he hates math. And yes, kids do recognize him as Ashtray. "There's [sic] kids that will follow me around, take pictures of me without noticing it."

His little brother played Young Ashtray on Euphoria

Daelo crushed it as the young version of his big brother’s HBO character on the season 2 premiere.

He had a brief feud with TikToker Vinnie Hacker

In August 2022, Javon posted a TikTok where he talks to his younger self. For some bizarre reason, Vinnie, a member of the Hype House, seemingly left an interesting comment on Javon's video.

Fans were confused by the conversation between Vinnie and Javon, and the Instagram tea page, TikTok Insiders, snagged a screenshot of it.

It turns out that Vinnie was hacked. He explained the situation on TikTok. Javon commented on the vid, letting Vinnie (and fans) know the "beef" has been squashed. "All g MY GUY! All love," Javon wrote.

He had the cutest reunion with his Euphoria co-star, Sydney Sweeney
