Support pours in for family who lost home in Fair Lawn fire

A GoFundMe fundraiser has received thousands of dollars to help the family that lived in the Fair Lawn house that caught fire Monday evening.

The Guerrier family needed to be relocated on Monday night as their home was deemed inhabitable. Luckily none of the residents or firefighters sustained any injuries, but the family is still going through a traumatic time with losing their home.

The fundraiser is hoping collect donations that will go toward purchasing items the children and family need as soon as possible. Additional funds will go straight to the family for support in the days, months and years ahead as they start their journey in waiting for the rebuild of their home.

The GoFundMe, shared by Fair Lawn police, passed $19,000 as of Wednesday afternoon, well beyond the goal of $10,000. The family lost everything in the fire, the GoFundMe stated.

"The strength of our community will help them overcome this tragic situation," the fundraiser stated.
