Naomi Campbell just turned the iconic steps of Metropolitan Museum of Art into her catwalk at the 2024 Met Gala!

The supermodel, 53, made an entrance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute benefit on May 6 in New York City, celebrating the upcoming exhibit "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" with the dress code "The Garden of Time."

Campbell sparkled in an aqua sequin-embellished fringe dress by Burberry with a simple V-neck and thin straps. She styled her long hair in a side part and added dazzling dangling Briony Raymond Collection emerald cut graduated diamond drop platinum earrings.

The fashion industry icon attended the event alongside Daniel Lee, the Chief Creative Officer at the helm of Burberry.

Campbell's Met moment marks a style milestone — her 17th Met Gala! The runway legend last attended the Met Ball in 2023 (theme: "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty"), where she wore a salmon pink, sari-inspired gown with silver sequined bodice from the Chanel Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2010 collection, plus Chanel High Jewelry.

The model and mom of two noted during Vogue’s livestream there that it was her 16th Met Ball, and previously looked back 30 years of her outfits at the fashion gala in a Life in Looks video. Campbell made her event debut in 1990 at the invitation of Gianni Versace through her then-roommate and fellow supermodel Christy Turlington, and returned in an curve-hugging glitter gown by the designer in 1995.

"I remember when I saw this dress for the first time I thought, ‘Wow, Gianni, is that for me?’ It seemed like one of those dresses that you read in those fairytale books, you know?" Campbell said in the video for Vogue in 2020.

She flashed forward through her Met Gala outfits of the 2000s, from a bespoke pale green creation by Alexander McQueen during his final season at Givenchy in 2006 to a black mini dress by her "papa," Azzedine Alaia the following year and honoring the late McQueen in a "masterpiece" dress by Sarah Burton for the 2011 Met Gala themed "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" after he died by suicide in 2010.

"I felt like I was really embodying Lee the best I could in his honor, " Campbell said, playfully imagining that the couturier would have told her to style her hair "straight, and that's it" with the intricate cape gown.

Campbell further revealed that she had the "most fun at the Met ever" in 2019 for "Camp: Notes on Fashion," when Pierpaolo Piccioli made her a pink chiffon Valentino ensemble with coordinating lace tights and a feathered train. The fashion statement came together in about 30 hours before Met Monday, after they scrapped her original look at the last minute — and Campbell owned the moment!
