Easter doesn’t prompt widespread closures like Thanksgiving or Christmas, but some businesses will lock their doors for the holiday that always falls on a Sunday.

Here’s what’s open and closed this Easter across the capital region:

What grocery stores are open on Easter?

Check your store’s hours before heading out.

Trader Joe’s: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Whole Foods: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sprouts: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Save Mart: 6 a.m. to midnight

Raley’s/Bel Air: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Safeway: 5 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Smart and Final: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

What pharmacies are open on Easter?

Walgreens: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

CVS: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Rite Aid: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Pucci’s Pharmacy at 3257 Folsom Blvd. in East Sacramento is closed on Sundays, according to its website.

Check with your store’s hours before heading out.

What’s closed in the Sacramento area on Easter?

Make your Costco run soon because the bulk warehouse and its gas stations will be closed on Sunday.

Roseville’s Westfield Galleria and Sacramento’s Arden Fair shopping centers will also lock their doors for the largely religious holiday.

Government offices are typically closed on Sundays. This includes courthouses and the U.S. Postal Service. Banks are also closed.
