Superman: Legacy has added three new names to its cast, hot off the heels of finding its Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

Last month, it was revealed that The Politician's David Corenswet and Marvelous Mrs Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan will play Superman and Lois Lane, respectively, following an extensive casting process by DC bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran.

According to Vanity Fair, the film has now cast The Suicide Squad's Nathan Fillion, Twilight star Edi Gathegim and Isabela Merced, best known for playing the live-action Dora the Explorer.

Fillion will play a Green Lantern named Guy Gardner in the upcoming film, following his appearances as Cory Pitzner, aka T.D.K. (The Detachable Kid), in Gunn's The Suicide Squad and Master Carja in Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

Gardner is a totally different incarnation of the Green Lantern from the one film fans have seen before. Ryan Reynolds famously played the Hal Jordan incarnation in the superhero's 2011 stand-alone film. However, Fillion's version has been described as "less than heroic" and will sport a bowl-cut haircut.

Gathegim, who Twilight fans will remember as Laurent, has been cast as Mister Terrific, aka Michael Holt, an extremely intelligent inventor with dangerous combat skills.

Mister Terrific is also known for his jacket, which features the catchphrase 'Fair Play' written down the sleeve and the T-Sphere device he created.

Meanwhile, Merced will play the winged, weapon-wielding Hawkgirl known for her love of swords, spears and maces.

Gunn is yet to comment on this recent casting news. However, he did previously confirm the news on Corenswet and Brosnahan last month, tweeting: "They are not only both incredible actors, but also wonderful people."

Superman: Legacy will debut in cinemas on July 11, 2025.
