'Superhero' team of experts in health and longevity to convene at West Palm Beach event

Movie studios know the value of featuring a wide array of their most popular superheroes in an epic, big-budget film.

One might say a similar approach to health, longevity and anti-aging science is being taken this weekend at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, with the inaugural Livelong Summit.

The brainchild of creator Brad Inman and scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Livelong Summit will present more than 20 expert speakers and feature dozens of industry-related exhibitors.

I am a happy 70-year-old husband, father and grandfather. The Grim Reaper is my only significant fear,” explained Inman about why he decided to host this event. “In my quest for innovative and credible medical information about living longer, I struggled finding trusted and vetted experts and non-biased or non-conflicted sources. That is why I am organizing Livelong Summit — to help the millions of people who feel the same way, so together we can live longer, healthier lives.”

Experience hosting large events

Real estate aficionados will instantly recognize Inman’s name.

An award-winning real estate journalist and publisher, he used his knowledge of the industry to create the Inman Group. The organization is among the real-estate world’s leaders in terms of presenting news, information, technology and new practices.

Inman also has been hosting real estate and technology conferences nationwide for decades.

The gatherings — known as Inman Connect — bring thousands of people together annually to share best practices and promote innovation in real estate.

For this weekend's event, he said he has gathered some of the nation's foremost experts in all health-related fields.

“From scientists and doctors to authors, researchers, and policy advisors, we've invited the top names in longevity to spend two days with you decoding lifespan science,” said Inman. “More importantly, we’ve challenged them to truly demystify all their cutting-edge concepts so you can take advantage of the secrets they know so well.”

Noteworthy presenters

Rare is the opportunity for the general public to interact directly with some of the folks who will be speaking this weekend.

Sinclair

For instance, David A. Sinclair, professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School, president of the non-profit Academy for Health and Lifespan Research, and co-chief editor of the journal "Aging," will discuss whether we can slow and even reverse aging.

Sinclair has previously said, “I believe that aging is a disease. I believe it is treatable. I believe we can treat it within our lifetimes. And in doing so, I believe, everything we know about human health will be fundamentally changed.”

During his discussion, he’ll speak about the myriad ways we can, in fact, slow the aging process and share some of the things that he personally does toward that end.

Hyman

Another prominent speaker will be Dr. Mark Hyman, a practicing family physician, founder and director of The UltraWellness Center and a 15-time New York Times best-selling author.

He’ll discuss a variety of ways to enhance the quality of your health — including how important it is to eat the right foods. As he says to all who will listen: “You can't exercise your way out of a bad diet.”

Robinton

Daisy Robinton, founder of Oviva Therapeutics, is both a molecular biologist and a lifestyle/fitness model; her presentation will focus on the biology of female longevity. Her ultimate goal, she says, is “to make menopause optional. We aim to give women choice over when, or even if, they will experience menopause.”

Greger
Greger

Dr. Michael Greger is a physician, longtime speaker on nutrition, founder of the free science-based nonprofit NutritionFacts.org and a four-time New York Times best-selling author.

As he told Maria Shriver’s "Sunday Paper" in January, the goal with his latest book — "How Not to Age: The Scientific Approach to Getting Healthier as You Get Older" — was "to cut through all the noise and nonsense. Dieting and anti-aging are multi-billion-dollar industries. With so much money in the mix, anyone seeking basic practical advice is faced with an inscrutable barrage of pills and potions."

Ahmad

With existing laws regarding fertility and IVF treatments being challenged, attendees will want to hear from practicing reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist Dr. Asima Ahmad. She is also the co-founder and chief medical officer of Carrot — an organization that offers telehealth access to a network of more than 8,000 reproductive endocrinologists, urologists, adoption experts, mental health experts, OB/GYNs, doulas, and midwives.

In addition to her medical practice and work with Carrot, the Chicago-based physician has been a longtime advocate for making comprehensive fertility coverage part of employee benefits packages.

“Fertility care should be the same as what we thought of vision and dental,” Ahmad said to the University of Chicago in November. “They were add-ons before, but now they’re the standard.”

The two-day itinerary

Livelong Summit will begin at 3 p.m. Friday with opening remarks by Inman, followed by discussions on such topics as “Can We Reverse the Aging Process?”, “How Social Experiences Shape Our Brain Health and Longevity,” and “How to Stay Young Forever.”

Following the opening-day discussions will be a VIP reception.

On Saturday, the day begins early, with an agenda that includes a variety of optional activities at 7 a.m. that include biking on Palm Beach Island, yoga and pickleball.

From there the presentations begin at 8:30 a.m. The first half of the day will include:

  • "Ageless: The New Science of Getting Older Without Getting Old"

  • "How Not to Diet & How Not to Die"

  • "Fired Up About Female Longevity"

  • "What to Do Now? New Tests, New Drugs & New Treatments"

  • "Renewal Biology: Is This the Future or Sci-Fi?"

  • "Ethics, Scams and Empty Promises: What’s Real?"

After a lunch break, the second half of the day will feature more intimate breakout sessions on topics such as avoiding/preventing fatal diseases, ending menopause-related issues, fertility breakthroughs, testing and disease-screening news, benefits of wearable technology and more.

“This event is for everyone — including people who are simply excited about cutting-edge research, technology breakthroughs and the people who are leading the charge in longevity," promised Inman. "We also invite health practitioners, scientists, investors and others to attend.”
