For Super Bowl Sunday, check out these five local sports bars to enjoy the big game

It's round two for the San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs.

On Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. This will be the second time the teams have faced off in a Super Bowl since 2020, when quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to a 31-20 victory.

It's a matchup you won't want to miss.

Check out these five local Eastern Shore sports bars where football fans can gather to grab a bite to eat and crack open a crisp cold one, all while cheering on their favorite team.

Hopper's Tap House located at 1400 S. Salisbury Blvd., inside the 1400 Pavilion South will be a hot spot for live coverage of Sunday's big football game and star-studded half-time show.

Hopper's offers patrons a wide variety of menu options, with selections from Wings & BBQ, Joe Mama’s Pizza & Subs, FN Burgers, Puebla Mexican Grill and King Fisher Liquor, all located at 1400 Pavilion South.

Live coverage of most sports can be viewed on any of the restaurant's flat screen televisions throughout the building. Pets are welcome as long as they are on a leash and well behaved.

2. Buxy's Salty Dog Saloon

Next, suit up for football at Buxy's Salty Dog Saloon. The casual sports bar and restaurant, located at 2707 Philadelphia Ave. in Ocean City, is owned and operated by Douglas A. “Buxy” Buxbaum.

Each year, the restaurant’s western Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh theme draws in legions of Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fans. Although the Steelers fell short of Super Bowl LVIII, Buxy's can expect no shortage of avid football fans this Super Bowl Sunday.

Together, patrons can watch the big game unfold on the restaurant’s countless television screens as they wolf down one of Buxy's famous cheesesteak subs, pierogis, Steel City sandwiches and more.

3. The Greene Turtle

The Greene Turtle, with locations in both Ocean City and Salisbury, will also play host to a thrilling Super Bowl Sunday watch party with a fun atmosphere built on the excitement and unity of sports.

The restaurant's food and drink deals will be plentiful come Super Bowl Sunday. Be sure to come with an empty belly, as popular menu items such as burgers, tacos and more will be available to order.

Additional menu items include shareables such as nachos, wings, pretzels, buffalo chicken dip, tater tots, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and much more ideal snacks for a football-filled day.

The Greene Turtle locations on the Lower Shore are at 2318 N Salisbury Blvd., in front of The Centre at Salisbury mall in Salisbury, and at 11601 Coastal Highway in Ocean City and 9617 Stephen Decatur Highway in West Ocean City.

4. Pickles Pub

This weekend, football fans will also flock to Ocean City's very own Pickles Pub, located at 706 Philadelphia Ave. The locals' favorite will be offering live coverage of the game throughout the day.

The laid-back, rustic hangout is open year-round and features four pool tables, pub fare, pickle shots, craft draft beer and live music. Patrons can expect a happy hour menu on deck during gameday.

Pickles Pub, "home of the original pickle shot," offers plenty of free parking. The restaurant and bar will serve lunch and dinner until 1 a.m., including live entertainment courtesy of Beats by Styler.

5. Roadie Joe's Bar & Grill

Be sure to also stop by Roadie Joe's Bar & Grill, with locations in both Salisbury and Berlin, for a special gameday-only carryout deal. The restaurant will be open Sunday from 2-5 p.m. for pick-up only.

Famished football fans can snag the restaurant's 3 lb. award-winning wing special tossed in his or her favorite sauce with house made ranch or blue cheese. Pre-ordering is recommended.

Roadie Joe's, established in 2013, has become a landmark at 213 W Main St. in Salisbury and now at 525 S Main St. in Berlin. The restaurant boasts an ever-evolving food menu, 20 beers on tap and daily food specials.
