Sunny start, possible wet end to Memorial Day weekend in Bucks County and South Jersey

Memorial Day weekend got off to a sunny start in Bucks County and South Jersey today, but turbulent weather on Saturday and Sunday will lead to a wet and humid holiday on Monday.

"It's not going to be the worst Memorial Day weekend," said Eric Hoeflich, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. "But Monday will be the worst of the four-day weekend, however."

What’s the weather on Friday, May 24, in South Jersey?

It will be a bit warmer in South Jersey on Friday, with temperatures expected to reach the mid 80s under partly sunny skies.

The humid conditions on Friday will lead to fog forming during the overnight hours in South Jersey.

Memorial Day Weekend forecast for Bucks County and South Jersey

Saturday will be mostly sunny overall, but there is a slight chance for isolated showers during the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service's 7-day outlook for Bucks County. Thunderstorms may develop during the overnight hours, but should clear out by Saturday morning.

Once the early clouds move out, Sunday should develop into a mostly sunny day, with temperatures nearing 83 degrees.

There is a decent chance of rain — 70% — on Memorial Day Monday in Bucks County, with mostly cloudy skies producing morning showers and potential thunderstorms after 2 p.m.

South Jersey cools off just a touch on Saturday, when temperatures are expected to reach the low 80s under partly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service's 7-day outlook for South Jersey.

Sunday will be nearly identical in South Jersey, with temperatures expected in the low 80s under a generally cloudless sky.

That changes on Memorial Day Monday, as it will be mostly cloudy and rainy throughout the day.

Spotty showers are expected Monday Morning in South Jersey, with afternoon thunderstorms likely.
