Sunday morning shooting leaves one dead, another injured

Apr. 29—A Sunday morning shooting has left one man dead and another receiving treatment for his injuries.

In a text, Cullman County Sheriff's Office Communications Deputy Chad Whaley said deputies responded to an "argument between family members [which] escalated into an altercation," Sunday morning, April 28, on County Road 109 in Bremen.

Whaley said one subject — later identified as Walter Eugene Robinson, 46, from Cleveland, Ala. — had sustained a gunshot would during the altercation while a second, still-unidentified individual was "possibly struck by a vehicle.

Robinson was pronounced dead at Cullman Regional Medical Center from his injuries on Sunday, according to Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick.

The CCSO said the incident is believed to have been an isolated one and feels there is no danger to the surrounding community.

The investigation is currently ongoing and further information will be provided as it is made available.
