It’s too early in the season to call Sunday’s Chiefs-Titans game pivotal, but it’s also not far-fetched to think it could have an impact on playoff seeding come January.

Both teams have a 5-2 record and are atop their divisions. It’s one of just two games in Week 9 that feature teams that both have a winning record (the other is the Bills-Jets contest).

The Chiefs-Titans game will air on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” and the network has labeled its broadcast schedule for Saturday and Sunday as “Big Event Weekend.”

On Saturday, NBC will air the Breeder’s Cup at 2:30 p.m., followed by the Clemson-Notre Dame Football game and then “Saturday Night Live.” The NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race is at 2 p.m., and the Chiefs will play the Titans at 7:20 p.m., wrapping up the weekend.

In Kansas City, fans also will see the Chargers at Falcons contest on Fox 4, as well as a pair of games on KCTV (Ch. 5): Bills at Jets and Rams at Buccaneers.
