Summer pool season is almost here. When do Summit County public pools open?

We are days away from the Memorial Day holiday, and that means it's time to take advantage of Summit County's public pools.

This is not an exhaustive list, but here's a sampling of the aquatic offerings that can be found throughout Summit County.

Akron

The offerings below are all expected to open on June 3.

  • Perkins Woods Pool, 899 Diagonal Rd.; Hours: Monday-Saturday, 1-7 p.m.

  • Joy Park Community Center Splash Pad, 825 Fuller St.; Hours: Daily, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

  • Firestone Park Community Center Splash Pad, 1480 Girard St.; Hours: Daily, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Residents wanting to swim at Perkins Woods pool must register for open swimming at akron.recdesk.com. The slide at Perkins Pool will not open until July.

Cuyahoga Falls

Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays are reserved for Season Pass Holders and their guests (up to two). Wednesdays through Saturdays are open for the public.

Daily tickets are available for purchase, with pricing depending on Cuyahoga Falls residency status.

There are three public splash pads that are all free and currently open in downtown Cuyahoga Falls (adjacent to the Downtown Amphitheater): Indian Mountain Park and Quirk Cultural Center. All of the splash pads open daily at 10 a.m. The downtown splash pad closes at 10 p.m. every day while the other two close at dusk.

All wading pools will open Saturday and are located at Lions Park, Oak Park and Linden Park. The wading pools are open daily from noon to 6 p.m.

Green

  • Central Park splash pad, 1795 Steese Rd.; Opening day: Saturday; Hours: Daily from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Admission to the splash pad is free.

Tallmadge

  • Maca Aquatic Center, 183 Maca Dr.; Opening day: Saturday; Hours: Monday-Thursday 11a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday-Sunday 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

Ticket prices vary for the Maca Aquatic Center, but children aged 2 and under are free.

Twinsburg

  • Twinsburg Water Park, 10260 1/2 Ravenna Rd.; Opening day: Saturday; Hours: Monday-Sunday 10:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

Visitors must have a season pass, or be a guest of someone with a season pass to use the facility. Season pass prices vary depending on Twinsburg residency status.
