Summer kickoff with fireworks and baseball in Abilene
The Abilene Flying Bison baseball team will celebrate their first home game with a fireworks display Thursday.
The game will be at McMurry's Walt Driggers Field at 1801 Amarillo Street.
The first pitch will be thrown at 7:15 pm, and the Bisons are playing the Piney Woods TimberHogs. The fireworks display will follow the finish of the game at approximately 10 pm.
The Flying Bisons warn those in the surrounding neighborhoods to be prepared to hear or see fireworks and take necessary precautions to keep pets and family safe.
The Bisons will play the TimberHogs every day from Thursday through Sunday, and tickets can be purchased on the Bisons' website. Tickets range from $10-13.
The Bisons have a stacked season that will continue through Aug. 10.
