Suki Waterhouse Just Launched a Golden Goose Collection
This past May, Suki Waterhouse sold me on Golden Goose.
Sitting in the lobby of the Venice Venice Hotel in Venice, Italy, Waterhouse was wearing a crisp blue striped button-down with a G embroidered in red on the cuff of her left arm, along with a star. It's not a top that you might associate with the brand, which is best known for its signature sneakers which come with built-in wear and tear. The button-down was subtle and sharp, no imperfections in site, although the G added a touch of playful Golden Goose-ness. When I complimented Waterhouse on the top, she told me how good it made her feel. And when I landed back in New York the next day, I ordered the same one for myself.
That was nearly four months ago, at the brand's inaugural Haus of Dreamers launch event, where Waterhouse was one of five "dreamers" selected to release a collection with the brand. At the time, CEO Silvio Campara told me he chose Waterhouse because she represented the brand's message, which is "to simply be yourself." That button-down top did exactly that; she told me it made her feel like her best self. And while she couldn't tell me exactly what the Dreamed by Suki Waterhouse collection would look like at the time, she mentioned how she hoped it would captured this feeling.
Now, the actress and singer's exclusive collection, which features just three items, is now available online. The first is a limited-edition series of 20 images she captured that expressed the soul of the city through its architecture. There's also two wearable pieces: a Swarovski crystal-embellished cropped, sleeveless t-shirt with padded shoulders and a pair of knee-high cowboy boots adorned with an eagle. They feel very much in line with the laid-back and slightly glamorous looks that Waterhouse wears, but also like pieces that would make you feel like your best self, too. And isn't that the dream.
