Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones has responded to the news that her ex-husband Neil is engaged and expecting a baby with his fiancée, Love Island's Chyna Mills.

Sharing the couple's announcement to her Instagram story, Katya wrote: "So happy for these two." She also tagged Neil in the post, adding that he deserved "all the happiness".

Katya and Neil met at a dance tournament in Blackpool and got married in 2013, before announcing their separation in 2019. Since their split, they've remained friends and still work together on a regular basis.

Neil and Chyna shared their happy news with Hello! magazine over the weekend, revealing they were engaged and expecting a child after a seven-month romance.

"After the baby news, we were on cloud nine – and now this. It still doesn't feel real," Chyna revealed.

While professional dancer Neil added: "I'd already planned to ask Chyna to marry me before we knew she was pregnant.

"Then we found out and I was like, 'Oh, this is brilliant, everything is coming together'."

The couple first met after Chyna's stint in the ITV dating show, with Neil noticing his now-fiancée while watching along with fellow Strictly stars Jowita Przystal and Rhys Stephenson.

Meanwhile, Katya recently opened up about her personal life, saying that independence in a relationship is important to her and that if she starts seeing someone new, she hopes it will be someone who "adds value" to her life.

"I don't want someone just to fill the gaps that I might have in my life, neither do I want to fill any of the gaps in theirs," she explained.

"It could be that men see me on television and are scared, they think I’m unapproachable for some reason which is obviously not true," Katya also said.

"We are all just humans looking for love – but if they're not brave enough then they're not the one, so I will carry on waiting."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
