Stray Kids Make Their Met Gala Debut in Tommy Hilfiger

Stray Kids look like total rock stars at the Met Gala. The eight-member K-pop group arrived to the event as guests of Tommy Hilfiger and wore coordinating looks by the designer. Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. stepped out wearing red, white, and navy suits.

First, they arrived in double-breasted coats before revealing their more colorful looks underneath.

“We’re stoked to be here and if it wasn’t for Tommy, we wouldn’t be here,” they said in a red carpet interview with Hilfiger. Regarding prep for the big night, they added, “we had a lot of fitting sessions but they went really smoothly.” They shared they’ll be embarking on a 40 city world tour as well.

Felix hinted at their plans earlier today when he shared an invite from Hilfiger on his Instagram Story. The partnership might not come as a huge surprise, as the members are currently ambassadors for the brand. They appeared in a campaign in fall 2023 and then again in spring 2024—this time paying homage to its signature preppy style. During the launch, the designer behind the label shared high praise for Stray Kids, saying “they possess an optimistic outlook that has connected them with international audiences through both their music and style.”

The group’s bold take on style is just as exciting as their music. In 2021, Felix spoke with Arena Homme + about subverting gender roles in fashion: “I think it’s cool when a male model pulls off female clothing really well or sports eye-catching hair and makeup. Personally, I like fashion that transcends boundaries and imagination.”

With tonight’s appearance, they follow other K-pop idols who’ve graced the Met steps in recent years, like Blackpink members Jennie and Rosé, Super Junior’s Siwon, NCT’s Johnny, CL, and more. Stray Kids’ night at the Met comes less than a year after they made their VMAs red carpet and stage debut, too.

With the release of their album Rock-Star last year, the band marked their fourth number-one entry on the Billboard 200 albums chart—quite impressive for a group that just debuted in 2018.

Regarding their astronomical success so far, Hyunjin said in a recent cover story with ELLE Korea that the band is nowhere near finished hustling yet. “I don’t want to be satisfied yet; I want to achieve more,” he said. “Since we’ve come this far thanks to the love of our fans, it would be the most shameful if our skills don’t match up to that.”
