Doja Cat shared her frustration with Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp sharing a private conversation between them, in which the pop star was trying to find out how to slide into the DMs of Schnapp’s co-star, Joseph Quinn.

On her Instagram Live, Doja was stern but fair with her aggravation. Noting Schnapp is still “a kid,” she said, “When you’re that young, you make mistakes, you do dumb shit… You fuck up relationships with people, you make mistakes, you’re supposed to do stuff like that so you know not to do it in the future. I did my share of fuck-ups so that I don’t fuck up again.”

Still, she said the 17-year-old’s decision to post “a private conversation between me and him is so unbelievably like socially unaware and whack. That’s like borderline snake shit. That’s like weasel shit.”

Doja added: “I’m not saying that encapsulates his entire personality. I wouldn’t imagine he is. Maybe he is, like a whole snake. But I didn’t see him that way. I made an assumption that he was gonna be chill about it and he went and shared information that I didn’t feel comfortable with him sharing.”

Schnapp has deleted the TikTok in which he shared his conversation with Doja Cat, but has otherwise not responded to Doja Cat’s complaints. Surely, though, one can expect a Notes app apology within the next 24 hours.

The whole saga began back when Doja Cat — currently recovering from tonsil surgery — previously made her intentions known by tweeting “Joseph Quinn fine as shit” when the first half of Stranger Things 4 arrived in May; the British actor Quinn joined the cast as the charismatic drug-dealing, Dungeons & Dragons-playing Eddie, and soon became the breakout star of the fourth season.

With the final episodes of Stranger Things’ new season arriving this month, Doja Cat’s infatuation with Quinn was reignited. As a result, she reached out via direct message to Schnapp, who plays Will Byers on the series, for intel on her crush.

“Noah can you tell Joseph to hmu? Wait no. Does he have a girlfriend?,” she asked.

“Slide into his DMs,” Schnapp recommended, to which Doja Cat replied, “I don’t know his Instagram or his Twitter. He doesn’t have a DM to slide in.” Schnapp then provided the singer with a (very Google-able) link to Quinn’s Instagram page, which currently has 4.7 million followers.

Schnapps’ matchmaking would have gone unreported had he not blasted the DM convo on TikTok, exposing Doja Cat’s thirst for the world to see.

While it’s unclear whether Doja Cat actually slid into Quinn’s DMs, the singer is now following the actor on Instagram.
