We asked readers where to find the best pumpkin pie in Whatcom County, and the votes are in.

The poll had eight local restaurant and bakery options in Whatcom County, including Icing on the Cake, Boundary Bay Brewery, Bellewood Farms and Lynden Dutch Bakery.

The unscientific poll received 45 votes.

The best pumpkin pie in Whatcom County

Barb’s Pies and Pastries received 13 votes, or 29% of the total, to top the list of the best pumpkin pie in Whatcom County.

The Ferndale bakery is known for its sweet and savory baked goods including hand pies, donuts, cinnamon rolls, cookies and pies. The bakery is also known for its kuchen, a German-style coffee cake made with apple, cherry or rhubarb fillings, as well as a lemon-berry coffee cake.

As for its famous pies, the bakery serves a variety of flavors daily, such as apple, strawberry-rhubarb, blackberry and bumbleberry, but during the autumn season also bakes pumpkin and caramel apple pies.

The bakery is also well-loved online, receiving a 4.8-star rating from 142 Google reviews and another 4.8-star rating from 71 reviews on Yelp.

Barb’s Pies and Pastries is open from 7 a.. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Saturday at 2054 Main St. in Ferndale.

In second place was Iron Rooster Bakery & Cafe with eight votes, followed by Lynden Dutch Bakery and Slice of Heaven Bakery & Cafe tying with six votes.

Chain restaurants were not included in the poll.
