Have storm debris in Vanderburgh County? Here's how to get rid of it

EVANSVILLE — Vanderburgh County residents with debris following last week's storm can get rid of it at Burdette Park.

The program has been set up jointly with the Vanderburgh County Commissioners, Vanderburgh County Highway Department and Burdette Park.

The program will run through April 20, or until the debris field is full. Drop-off will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the front baseball field at 5301 Nurrenbern Road, located directly across from the main entrance at Burdette Park

There is no cost to participate, but the program is only open for residential use by Vanderburgh County residents.

"Only natural storm debris such as tree limbs will be accepted," according to the county. "No other materials, including roofing shingles or house siding, will be permitted for disposal."

There will be no drop off on Sunday, April 14.

Residents who want to drop off debris will need to have their driver's license or identification card to show residence. Vanderburgh County Highway Department personnel will be on site to direct residents and verifyeligibility.

County workers will not unload debris; this will need to be done by the residents.

For more information contact Burdette Park’s main office at 812-435-5602.
