Whether you want to head to a mall, a big box retail store or a locally owned shop, you should know that store hours can change due to the holidays. Stores may have reduced hours before Christmas, and many are likely closed on the big day.

Christmas hours for malls in the Triangle

▪ Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh — This mall, with stores that include Bath & Body Works, Gap, Hallmark and more, will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The mall will be closed on Christmas Day.

▪ The Streets at Southpoint in Durham — This mall, with stores that include American Eagle, Belk, Nordstrom and more, will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The mall will be closed on Christmas Day.

▪ Triangle Town Center in Raleigh — This mall, with stores that include Barnes & Noble, Macy’s and more, will be open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The mall will be closed on Christmas Day.

Note: For malls especially, hours may vary at each shop or restaurant. It’s a good idea to check with each tenant to confirm when they’ll be open.

Locally owned store hours in the Triangle during Christmas

▪ Curate Raleigh — Triangle Pop-Up’s downtown Raleigh storefront, located at 15 W. Hargett St., hosts more than 60 local artists. Selling items like jewelry, chocolate, candles and more, it would be a great place for a last minute gift. Curate will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The store will be closed on Christmas Day.

▪ DECO Raleigh — This downtown Raleigh independent retailer, located at 207 S. Salisbury St., sells everything from books and stationery to gourmet snacks to jewelry and clothes. Stop in to find a unique gift made by one of more than 100 local and independent artists and makers. DECO will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The store will be closed on Christmas Day.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The store will be closed on Christmas Day.

Also, pharmacy hours may vary by location, so if you need an emergency prescription filled, call ahead before heading out.
