It's almost time for Memorial Day barbecues and family gatherings.

Memorial Day is Monday, May 27, which means it's time to get your grocery shopping list prepped. If you're waiting until the last minute to head to the store – don't panic. Here's which grocery stores will be open and closed on Monday, as well as other stores and services.

What stores are closed on Memorial Day?

  • Costco: Closed.

  • Jungle Jim's: Open during regular hours, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Kroger: Open during regular hours, which vary by location.

  • Meijer: Open during regular hours, 6 a.m. to midnight.

  • Remke: Open during regular hours, which vary by location.

  • Sam's Club: Open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Plus members. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Club members.

  • Trader Joe's: Open during regular hours, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Walmart: Open during regular hours, which vary slightly by location but are typically 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Whole Foods: Open during regular hours, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Retail

  • Barnes & Noble: Open during regular hours, which vary by location.

  • Big Lots: Open during regular hours, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Home Depot: Open during regular hours, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Government offices

Federal, state and local government offices will be closed on Memorial Day.

Does Amazon deliver on Memorial Day?

Memorial Day is a paid holiday for Amazon employees, so packages will not be delivered that day.

United States Postal Service, FedEx and UPS will also be closed, with the exception of UPS Express Critical and FedEx Custom Critical services.

Does the bus run on Memorial Day?

Are banks open on Memorial Day?

Most banks, including Federal Reserve Banks, are closed on Memorial Day.

Rumpke trash collection on Memorial Day

Trash and recycling will not be collected within the city of Cincinnati on Monday. If you live within city limits and your regular trash pickup day is Monday, your trash will instead be collected on Tuesday. Collections for the rest of the week will also be delayed by one day.
