STEVENS POINT – There’s potential for new developments to rise from the ashes along Hoover Road in Stevens Point.

Eighteen acres are available for commercial development at 3383 Hoover Road after the Stevens Point Fire Department conducted a live fire training Dec. 16.

Victor Baeten, the president of Source Commercial Real Estate, said he had been looking at development opportunities in Stevens Point when he saw potential at the site. The owners eventually agreed to sell the 18-acre property for future development.

Baeten said while various parties have expressed interest in the site so far, the property is still open to any commercial developments, including retail, restaurant, hospitality, multi-family, financial service and medical developments. Source Real Estate is open to selling or leasing, Baeten said. The property could be used by one development or could be broken up into multiple projects.

The property on Hoover Road is currently zoned residential, although once more concrete plans are in the works, Baeten said he would work with the city to rezone the area for commercial development. At the moment, some plans are in play, but Source Commercial Real Estate is exploring all opportunities for the property, Baeten said.
